Born in 1946, Armavir, Armenia, Jora Hayrapetyan is a prominent artist; awarded with “Movses Khorenatsi” – the highest cultural award in Armenia, as well as the gold medal award given by the RA Ministry of Culture.
Famous for his highly detailed colorful paintings of artists, street musicians and circus performers, Hayrapetyan tells the story of solitary and the struggling class of art people; at the same time, emphasizing their important and irreplaceable role in our journey of life. In His paintings he masterfully eliminates the borders between realism and abstraction; between reality and illusion.
Graduated from the State Yerevan Fine Arts and Theater Institute, he is a professor at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Armenia since 2010.
Jora Hayrapetyan’s works are held in important art institutions in Armenia, including the RA State National Art Gallery.
His works are also kept in private art collections throughout Armenia, Russia, USA, UAE, Switzerland, Lebanon, Canada and France.
