Khachik Hovhannisyan

Born in 1957 in Aygavan, Armenia.

Recognized as one of the leading painters of his generation, Khachik Hovhannisyan is an Armenian abstract and figurative artist.

Hovhannisyan’s artworks are most noted for his exploration of colour and light.

He is known for both his figurative work and non-figurative works, which over the years looked to explore further the idea of making all areas of the painting of equal importance.

His works are kept in important public collections, among them, the State National Gallery of Armenia, and the Museum of Modern Art in Armenia.
