Kamsar (Kamo Sahakyan) was born in 1961 in Yeghegnadzor, Armenia.
Kamsar’s artistic career is characterized as one of persistent experimentation and a lifelong flirtation with non-objectivity. During his career, Kamsar launched a series of experiments that would initiate a career-long investigation of the materialist principles of abstraction: how reality can be represented through form.
Also influenced by the surrealism of Joan Miro, he created a series of artworks in which, human being is standing in the center of space, becoming the line that brings matter and soul together.
His work began to achieve great power through increased simplicity, intensified color, and abstraction as in the “Blue Cave-1988”, “The Song of Dawn”, “Landscape-Composition”, etc.
Kamsar’s paintings were exhibited in many countries; among them New York, Detroit, Moscow, Tehran, Paris, Madrid, and Yerevan.
